Citing fundamental differences during negotiations, the Municipal Review Committee has put the sale of the Coastal Resources of Maine waste-to-energy facility on hold. The potential buyer is Delta Thermo Energy, a Feasterville, PA based firm.

Since the site is currently offline until the sale is finalized, the 115 communities served by the MRC have had to redirect their waste to a separate WTE site in Orrington, ME. However, that site is expected to halt operations in April for maintenance. It is unclear yet when DTE and MRC will reach a sale agreement and where waste from the 115 communities will be redirected once the Orrington site is closed.
