Advanced Disposal Inc. (Jacksonville, FL), which needed a new corporate headquarters following its $1.9 billion acquisition of Veolia's US waste business, has formally selected a site in nearby St. Johns County. Following the merger last July as well as the consolidation with its sister company Interstate Waste, speculation had swirled over whether the company might relocate to Milwaukee, where Veolia has its offices, Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, or remain in Florida. The new 56,000 square-foot, hurricane proof building in Nocatee, FL puts a beautiful face on the company and ought to prove a compelling draw for previously northern-based employees.

Advanced Disposal Selects Northeast Florida As Company Headquarters
Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., an integrated environmental services company, announced today the official selection of Northeast Florida for its corporate headquarters after an extensive search in Atlanta, Charlotte, Milwaukee and Northeast Florida. The new corporate headquarters will be located at 90 Fort Wade Rd., Ponte Vedra, Fla. 32081 in St. Johns County. The headquarters move is expected to bring with it 85 new jobs and a capital investment of approximately $4 million.
With the consolidation of Interstate Waste Services and Veolia ES Solid Waste into Advanced Disposal, the company more than tripled in size in regards to staff, geographic footprint and revenues and is in need of a new corporate headquarters facility to house the expanding company and new staff. The company will be leasing approximately 56,000 square feet effective today. The building was built in 2009 and has been classified as a Category 5 hurricane strength building with state-of-the-art information technology wiring infrastructure and all furnishings already in place to allow for immediate occupancy. It is located in Nocatee, a mixed development community on the St. Johns and Duval County line.
"The decision was not an easy one, and it ultimately came down to what was the best business decision for the company in terms of state and local financial incentives, corporate and individual income taxes, relocation expenses, negotiated office space fees and a region-wide business friendly environment," said Charlie Appleby, chief executive officer of Advanced Disposal. "Advanced Disposal was created in Northeast Florida, and as we celebrate our twelfth anniversary, we are proud to announce that it will remain our corporate home for years to come benefitting the company and all Northeast Florida counties."
Advanced Disposal worked in conjunction with Enterprise Florida, JAXUSA, and St. Johns County to obtain a competitive financial incentive package for the corporate headquarters location. The incentives played a significant role in the decision making process and combined with the existing, talented corporate staff living throughout Northeast Florida, secured the region as Advanced Disposal's headquartered location.

Advanced Disposal will have regional offices in the following cities: Roswell, Ga. (South Region), Charlotte (East Region) and Batavia, Ill. (Central/Midwest Region). Certain corporate functions will remain in Milwaukee, Wis.
