PRESS RELEASE September 4, 2012 Advanced Disposal and Interstate Waste Now Operating Under The Advanced Disposal Name -- Both Companies Maintain Original Operating Footprints Advanced Disposal Services, Inc., an integrated environmental services company, announces the combination of Interstate Waste Services into its operations. Effective September 1, Advanced Disposal Services has officially assumed managerial and financial control of Interstate Waste Services. Interstate Waste and Advanced Disposal, both portfolio companies of Highstar Capital, owned through Star Atlantic Waste Holdings II, LP ("Star Atlantic"), have historically operated independent of each other. On September 1, the companies were consolidated and began working together under the Advanced Disposal name. On July 18, Star Atlantic signed a definitive agreement to acquire Veolia ES Solid Waste with the close expected to come this Fall. The combination of Advanced Disposal and Interstate Waste is an integral step in that process. After closing, the three companies will operate under the Advanced Disposal name. The new consolidated Advanced Disposal, post Veolia closing, will operate in 20 states and the Bahamas, service more than 1.8 million residential customers and more than 200,000 commercial and industrial customers, and generate an estimated $1.4 billion in annual revenues.
