Advanced Disposal Opens New Facility Following Acquisition in Alabama

Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. (Jacksonville, FL) said it opened a $1.5 million state-of-the-art transfer station in Mobile, AL. Waste processed through the transfer station will be hauled to the company's Turkey Trot Landfill in south Washington County, which opened in May this year. "Our Mobile Transfer Station is designed with the customer in mind for more efficient operations and thus a cleaner, safer option for everyone's disposal needs," said Dave Lavender, Advanced Disposal regional vice president. The company also recently expanded its customer base in Alabama after it bought Lowndes Garbage Service, LLC, its tenth acquisition this year.

Advanced Disposal's Mobile Transfer Station Now Open for Business

  • $1.5 Million State-of-the-Art Facility Accepts Waste from Haulers, Businesses and Residents

Advanced Disposal Services, Inc. opened Mobile Transfer Station, located at 5740 Carole Plantation Rd., on Monday. The company's $1.5 million facility will provide a much needed service to Mobile County and the surrounding Gulf Coast area.

"Our Mobile Transfer Station is designed with the customer in mind for more efficient operations and thus a cleaner, safer option for everyone's disposal needs," said Dave Lavender, Advanced Disposal regional vice president. "We are proud of our brand new facility, which became a reality largely due to Advanced Disposal's strong partnership with Mobile County."

In addition to bringing five direct jobs to the county, this facility will also provide an economical and efficient means of disposal for businesses and other waste service providers. All waste collected at Mobile Transfer Station will be disposed of at Turkey Trot Landfill, which is owned and operated by Advanced Disposal and located in south Washington County.

Advanced Disposal created a landscaped entrance, as well as a privacy fence surrounding the transfer station. A large green space was kept between the facility and neighboring Boykin Park. Advanced Disposal has pledged to provide support for Boykin Park athletic leagues on an ongoing basis through monetary support for uniforms and field maintenance, as well as provide in-kind garbage collection service.

Mobile Transfer Station is available for county residents, other third-party haulers in Mobile County and neighboring counties, as well as municipal governments in the surrounding areas, to dispose of their waste.
