Edinburg, TX Partners with Singapore Company to Develop Landfill Gas-to-Energy

The City of Edinburg, TX is partnering with SCC Americas to develop a 2 megawatt landfill gas-to-energy plant at the city's 147-acre, 1,100 ton per day landfill. Under a 25-year contract, SCC Americas will enhance the landfill's gas collection system, construct and operate the generating facility, and sell the power, for which the city will be paid a royalty. SCC is based in Singapore and is an investor and operator of clean energy projects which either directly abate, or otherwise displace or avoid, GHG emissions.
