Waste Management of Ohio Acquires Metro Waste Disposal

Waste Management of Ohio announced today it has acquired Metro Waste Disposal, a solid waste services company serving primarily business customers in the Cleveland, Akron and Canton area. Waste Management of Ohio is a subsidiary of Waste Management, Inc., (NYSE: WM) a North American leader in the recycling and waste services industry.

"It's a privilege for Waste Management to join with Metro Disposal to create an expanded service oriented company, capable of meeting the growing needs of customers in Northeastern Ohio," said Denise Gretz, Waste Management Area Vice President.

Metro Disposal has offices in Cleveland and Canton, primarily serving commercial and industrial customers. Initially, those operations will be combined with Waste Management's network of Ohio service locations as personnel and equipment needs are assessed. Customers will continue to see trucks from both companies while the Metro Disposal trucks are rebranded with Waste Management signage.

Metro Disposal President Mike O'Donnell said, "Merging two of the area's best companies will enhance the ability of the combined firm to serve the future needs of our customers."
