ReCellular Inc. Announces New Chief Executive Officer
Stephen Manning Brings Industry Experience to Growing Green Firm
ReCellular, the largest collector and processor of used cell phones in the world, announced today the hiring of Stephen Manning as Chief Executive Officer. Chuck Newman, the founder and current CEO, will remain with the firm in the role of Chairman of the Board.
Manning most recently served as Senior Vice President for Business Development and Field Services Operations at Solectron Global Services. Solectron Global Services was a $1 Billion post manufacturing services division of Solectron Corporation prior to its acquisition by Flextronics International. Previously, he was the President and CEO of Sequel Inc., a service and manufacturing IT outsourcing company focused on the manufacturing and repair of technology equipment.
"Stephen's extensive experience in reverse logistics and the cell phone industry will be a tremendous asset to ReCellular," said Chuck Newman, Chairman of ReCellular Inc. "We look forward to leveraging his skills as our business continues to grow and evolve."
ReCellular recently released their 2008 Sustainability Report, highlighting their significant growth and success in collecting and processing electronic waste. Last year, the firm collected more than 5.5 million phones, resulting in 1.2 million pounds of materials being diverted from landfills and more than $4 million in donations to charitable causes.
"ReCellular's industry leadership and reputation for integrity and innovation are second to none," said Manning. "I am thrilled to have this opportunity to help the company expand on their recent growth and success."
Also joining the team are Ramarao Srinivasa (Srini) as Chief Information Officer and Jeff Kaiser as Plant Manager.
