GLR Recycling Solutions Opens New Single-Stream Recycling Facility in Huron Township, Michigan
Roseville, Mich. Jan. 13, 2009 –Roseville, Michigan-based GLR Recycling Solutions, is pleased to announce that they have opened their second single-stream recycling processing center in Huron Township, Michigan to process commodities collected in the curbside programs of many communities in the region.
This 50,000 square-foot recyclables processing facility will create as many as 42 new full-time jobs and represents more than a $12 million investment in Michigan. Additionally, the construction of the GLR Huron Township provided work for more than 60 steel workers, masons, electricians, carpenters and other contractors for the past six months.
"Having been located in Michigan for more than 80 years, we felt it was important to invest in Michigan," said Sandy Rosen, CEO of GLR. "The recycling facility will process recyclables from the entire region including from Ohio, Indiana Michigan and Canada."
GLR believes the Huron Township facility represents that Michigan residents want to do the right thing by recycling but also want it to be easy. "That's why we created another single-stream materials recovery facility," said Rosen. "People just want to put everything in one bin and not have to work at recycling," Rosen concluded.
This recycling plant is unique in that it was specifically designed to enable educational tours with a safe viewing area and walkway of the recycling process and a multi-media education room so that schools and other groups can help educate the future leaders on the importance of recycling to our environment. Tours will be available to public groups beginning sometime in the Spring of 2009. You can learn more by going to www.go-glr.com

It features state-of-the-art equipment and technology. The new GLR facility celebrated its official grand opening today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with local, county and state officials.
