Cincinnati-based Rumpke Consolidated Co. hopes to nearly triple the capacity of its Pendleton County Landfill in Butler, KY. The Kentucky Division of Waste Management has issued a draft expansion permit which tentatively allows the facility to expand from 14 acres to 62.4 acres. "This expansion is part of the normal life cycle for a landfill of its size," said Todd Rumpke, regional vice president for Rumpke, in a press release. The Kentucky DWM is giving the public until the end of the month to comment before it issues final approval.
The public can review Rumpke's application for expansion of its Butler landfill at the Division of Waste Management's Frankfort office, 14 Reilly Road, 40601, by appointment only. For more information call (502) 564-6716.
