Advanced Disposal Services Inc. has acquired Arrow Disposal Service Inc for $36 million. The acquisition of Arrow Disposal Service Inc. this week is the 48th for the Jacksonville-based solid waste collection company since it started doing business in 2000. Arrow is based in Abbeville near Dothan and employs 207 people to provide commercial and residential collection services in various Alabama counties and cities including Hoover, Vestavia Hills and Gardendale. Arrow President Gentry Shows will continue to serve in Alabama. "I am excited about the expanded platform for growth opportunities and the significant financial strength represented by joining the assets of the companies," he said. Plans include more acquisitions this year and into the future, said Advanced Disposal Chief Marketing Officer Mary O'Brien. "We certainly see acquisitions as an important part of our growth strategy," she said.
