Allied Waste Industries and Waste Services, Inc. each announced that they have closed on the previously announced $53 million transaction to swap assets in South Florida and Arizona. Under the deal originally announced on July 20, 2006, Allied agreed to trade its south Florida operations estimated to represent $65 million in annual revenue to Waste Services, Inc. In exchange, Waste Services, Inc. gives up two transfer stations and a landfill in Arizona.
