Waste Services Announces Department of Justice Final Approval to Florida / Arizona Transaction

Waste Services, Inc. (Nasdaq: WSII) today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice has given its final approval to the previously announced transactions in which Waste Services will acquire Allied Waste's South Florida operations, consisting of a collection company, a transfer station that is permitted to process 800 tons per day and a materials recovery facility providing service in Miami - Dade County, and Waste Services will sell to Allied Waste its Arizona operations. David Sutherland-Yoest, Waste Services Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stated "We are excited to be able to expand our significant Florida presence into Miami - Dade County, the largest market in Florida".
