BioIonix, a small firm incorporated in 2005, says that it has developed a new technology to clean wastewater. The process kills most of the bacteria in various kinds of liquid waste by treating it with a high-frequency electromagnetic field. The electromagnetic field breaks down the water molecules in the wastewater to create H2O2, or hydrogen peroxide. The Hydrogen peroxide kills most of the bacteria in the waste and then breaks down again into water and oxygen. The process has been tested in Jackson, WI from 2002 to 2005 and the town is now in the process of purchasing a system.
