Veolia Environmental Services and Osram Sylvania Launch Partnership to Provide Environmentally Responsible Recycling Service for Lighting and Electronics Waste, an Industrial Info News Alert
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). Veolia Environmental Services (VES) North America, a subsidiary of the Veolia Group (NYSE: VE) (Paris, France), is pleased to announce a partnership with OSRAM SYLVANIA (Danvers, Massachusetts) to jointly promote Veolia's award-winning lighting and electronics recycling program online. Starting yesterday, OSRAM SYLVANIA is offering the sale of RECYCLEPAK on its website, www.sylvania.com, thereby expanding its range of lighting and recycling solutions. This business agreement reinforces the commitment of both VES and OSRAM SYLVANIA to advancing environmental sustainability.
Formerly known as OnyxPak, RECYCLEPAK is the perfect recycling and disposal solution for small quantities of lighting wastes, such as fluorescent lamps and ballasts. Prepaid packaging allows for a convenient way for small businesses to manage their lighting waste, with one price covering all the necessary requirements.
RECYCLEPAK ships supplies to and from the customer's facility, and processes all documentation, including certificates of recycling. The pre-paid recycling program ensures complete compliance with state and local disposal regulations while reducing the risks associated with improper storage.
In addition to lighting waste, RECYCLEPAK also provides a recycling and disposal solution for electronics waste, including batteries, computer electronics and mercury containing items.
"Our relationship with OSRAM SYLVANIA furthers both companies' global commitment to sustainable development and to protecting public health and the environment," noted Philippe Martin, President and CEO of Veolia ES Technical Solutions, LLC. "We are proud to be associated with such a socially responsible organization."
Jennifer Dolin, environmental marketing manager, OSRAM SYLVANIA, agrees. "We take great pride in being the industry leaders in recycling," said Dolin. "We want to make it easy for our customers to be environmentally responsible. Working with Veolia, and selling the RECYCLEPAK through our website is another step forward in this effort."
Recycling promotes the most efficient use of our resources. By separating items into their components and reusing the components and by-products, we are reducing waste and diverting waste from landfills, saving energy, and conserving our resources. Veolia Environmental Services, working on behalf of the environment, is committed to minimizing the pollution impact of our own daily activities and to the use of waste as a resource by expanding recycling, composting and renewable energy production.
OSRAM SYLVANIA has always promoted lamp and ballast recycling as the most responsible method of disposal. As a subsidiary of OSRAM SYLVANIA, SYLVANIA Lighting Services (SLS) upholds that commitment through its service programs. The first lighting service company to recycle lamps at the end of life, SLS includes lamp recycling in every contract they issue for service and maintenance. Each year, SLS sends 8.5 million lamps to certified recycling facilities, keeping over 112 pounds of mercury from entering landfills.
Please visit www.sylvania.com for more information on the new recycling program and how to begin using RECYCLEPAK today.
