The U.S. House of Representatives approved a bill (H.R. 2491) to stop almost all international garbage from being imported into the United States. The bill gives the states power to regulate how much international waste is imported into their states until the EPA regulates the issue. It is unclear whether a Senate version will emerge before the end of the year.
