Rob Davies Appointed President of Energis LLC

Rob Davies has been appointed President of Energis LLC. He comes to the position after serving as Plant Manager at the Holcim (US) Inc. cement manufacturing plant in Florence, CO for three years.

Mr. Davies will lead Energis as it enters a period of growth designed to reinforce the company's top standing as the premier organization to integrate waste management and co-processing with the cement industry. With more than 15 years of cement related experience in the United Kingdom, South Africa and United States, Mr. Davies is well suited to lead Energis. He introduced several continuous improvement programs that were instrumental in the Florence plant's achieving three years without a lost time accident, and increased the facility's use of tire derived fuel. He also worked with Energis in implementing state legislation extending the tire program in Colorado.

Before coming to Holcim, Mr. Davies held several manufacturing posts with Lafarge Cement and Blue Circle Cement, including appointments as a Plant Manager in both the UK and the US. At Lafarge he was responsible for manufacturing across the UK and implemented a variety of improvement programs, including the company's alternate fuels and raw materials program. This role included collaborating with manufacturing teams, building relationships with government agencies, developing waste streams, and creating two joint venture waste companies.

Mr. Davies earned a Master's degree in business administration from the Warwick University, UK and a Master's degree in engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, London.
