Striking Teamsters Leaflet Yankee Stadium Opening Day
Teamster sanitation workers will leaflet the Yankees' home opener on April 11, 2006, calling on fans to send a message to Houston-based Waste Management, Inc. (WM) to negotiate in good faith. The sanitation workers, represented by Teamsters Local 813 in New York City, were forced on strike against WM on April 3, 2006 for their efforts to protect living standards for their families and communities.
Striking workers will pass out fliers headlined, "Waste Management Wants New York To Lose," detailing how both the community and workers' families lose when corporate greed is allowed to run rampant.
