The Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation has announced its collection data for 2005, and reported the collection of almost 5 million pounds of rechargeable batteries in the United States and Canada, an increase of nearly 10 percent from 2004. In 2005, community participation in RBRC's programs grew 38 percent, while participation by businesses grew by 26 percent.
