Allied Waste (NYSE: AW) has reported financial results for the third quarter of 2005. Operating income increased $229 million compared to $228 million in the year-ago quarter. Third quarter internal revenue growth increased 4.8 percent over the prior year; company officials credited the growth to strong price and volume increases. In addition, $7 million in reductions to operating income related to the Gulf Coast hurricanes were included in the third quarter 2005 results.
