Waste Connections, Inc. (NYSE: WCN) has announced third quarter earnings of $0.51 per share, an increase of 10.9 percent over the same period last year. Revenue for the third quarter was $188.7 million, a 17.1 percent increase over the $161.2 million in the same quarter last year. Operating income for the quarter was $46.5 million, up 7.9 percent over operating income of $43.1 million in the third quarter of 2004. Already this year, the company has closed acquisitions in nine states with annualized revenues totaling about $50 million.
