Wal-Mart Expands Plastics Recycling Program

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has expanded its pilot recycling program, which sandwiches layers of plastic shrink-wrap, bags, apparel bags, and other film between cardboard. The "sandwiches" contain 9 to 18 inches of plastic between 10 to 20 inches of cardboard. The company began the pilot project at 326 Wal-Mart and Sam's Club stores, and will expand it to another 267 stores across a total of 17 states.
