The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has signed a self-audit/self-disclosure agreement with the federal EPA and the Association of Independent Colleges & Universities of Pennsylvania to encourage voluntary disclosure of environmental violations found during audits at member schools. The organizations hope to encourage schools to develop Environmental Management Systems, a method of managing environmental responsibilities that can help identify ways to reduce and prevent pollution and comply with regulatory requirements.
