PC Scale, Inc. has won a contract to provide customized point-of-sale software for driver-assisted scale data management systems for New York City Department of Sanitation transfer stations. PC Scale will provide software and peripheral devices such as driver-assisted terminals, radio frequency units and proximity readers for both the transfer station and adjoining compost facility at the Fresh Kills Landfill, located on the western shore of Staten Island. The Staten Island Transfer Station is expected be operational by early 2005. PC Scale will also provide software for four marine transfer stations designed to ship waste by barge. Construction of the marine transfer stations is scheduled to begin April 2005, with the transfer stations projected to be operational by the end of 2007.
