Republic Services, Inc. (NYSE: RSG) has reported net income of $62.5 million, or $0.41 per diluted share, for the three months ended September 30, 2004, versus net income of $44.7 million, or $0.28 per diluted share, for the same period last year. Revenue in the third quarter of 2004 increased 8.0 percent to $699.9 million from $648.0 million for the same period in 2003.
