Michigan Waste Control Law Takes Effect

A new Michigan state law regulating the kinds of waste that can be shipped to Michigan landfills from out of state has taken effect now that a federal court judge has denied an effort by the waste industry to postpone the law. The National Solid Waste Management Association had sued to block the law, which requires jurisdictions shipping waste to Michigan to have the same restrictions as Michigan on the materials they accept in their waste.
