Severn Trent Services (www.severntrentservices.com) has begun providing contract operations at the Fresh Kills Landfill in New York City. Operating under an eight-year contract, the company is handling operations, maintenance, and facilities management of the landfill's leachate system. The contract is valued at $65 million, and the company's leachate control system is capable of treating up to one million gallons per day.
