Cedar Mountain Environmental has received siting approval for a proposed radioactive waste landfill in Tooele County (www.co.tooele.ut.us). The company still faces significant challenges in siting the facility, and has not yet determined the types of waste that will be accepted there. The company must receive a license from the state Division of Radiation Control (www.radiationcontrol.utah.gov) and approval from Tooele County, the Utah Legislature, and the governor.
