The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has announced $2.6 million in performance grants to 73 Pennsylvania localities for their recycling work in 2002. Overall, DEP has awarded 738 recycling performance grants totaling almost $18 million for their recycling work in 2002. The grants come from the state's Recycling Fund, which is supported by a $2 per ton fee on all waste disposed in Pennsylvania.
