The Federal Aviation Administration (www.faa.gov) has announced that a proposed landfill development in Marion, Ind. near the Williamson County Regional Airport will require FAA approval. The Kibler Development Corporation contends that the Marion Ridge Landfill proposal will not need FAA approval since it will only be used to dispose of construction waste. The permit granted by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency allows a disposal area of about 189 acres on a 358-acre site.
