Wyoming Mulls Options For Impending Landfill Crisis

Twenty-one landfills in the state of Wyoming are leaking, and state officials estimate that as many as half of its 130 operating and closed landfills could eventually leak. A state advisory group has proposed having the state clean leaking landfills provided the owners meet certain conditions. Other proposals include distributing cleanup costs over the course of a number of years and improving recycling in order to cut the state's waste stream.
