The federal EPA has removed the Florence Land Recountouring Site in Burlington County from the Superfund list, ending its 20-year tenure on the list. The 60-acre site was licensed as an MSW landfill that closed in 1981, but illegally dumped chemical waste at the site contaminated soil and groundwater. The EPA installed a liner and cap, and drained two lagoons onsite.
