Beijing Prepares To Develop Asia's Largest Incinerator

The city of Beijing, China will build a new incinerator in its Minhang District, one which will be the largest of its kind in Asia. Owned by Shanghai Environment Investment Company, the incinerator will be able to handle 3,000 tons of waste per day and generate 270 million kilowatt-hours of power each year. The plant will cost an estimated $180 million, and awaits approval from national environmental authorities.
