Connecticut Supreme Court Rules Against Landfill Owner

The Connecticut Supreme Court has ruled that Hamden landfill owner Joseph J. Farricelli must clean up his facility and pay $3.7 million in penalties. The court's unanimous ruling arose from a February 1998 consent order Faricelli signed, then failed to comply with. The order demanded that Faricelli cease unsanctioned activity at the landfill and clean up an estimated 15 million tires.
