Oregon Fines Army For Chemical Incinerator Problems

The state of Oregon has fined the Umatilla Chemical Depot $184,800 for a computer error that kept two safety systems offline during tests last year. The Army and its contractor, Washington Demilitarization Co., can appeal the fine against the chemical weapons incinerator. IESI Reports End-Of-Quarter Results

IESI Corporation has reported results from the three months ended March 31, 2004. Revenue increased more than 33 percent to $74.1 million, as compared to $55.4 million for the same period in 2003. Operating income over the period increased to $6.4 million from $3.4 million in 2003, and net loss was $1.2 million as compared to $501,000 in 2003. Versar Shows Improved Financial Results

Versar Inc. has reported results for its third quarter of fiscal 2004, with gross revenues up 13 percent over 2003 to $15.1 million. This marks the company's fourth consecutive profitable quarter, and is due to an increase in subcontracted mold remediation work. Net income for the third quarter of fiscal 2004 was $21,000, versus a loss of $455,000 in the same period in 2003. USA Biomass Strikes Deal To Haul California Wood Chips

USA Biomass Corporation (OTC: USBCQ) has entered into a two-year contract with Lake Arrowhead Forest Products, Inc. to transport wood chips from Lake Arrowhead, Calif. to the Bakersfield, Calif. area. The contract is expected to yield more than $1 million in revenue for USA Biomass.
