Ohio Environmental Commission Approves Waste Management Transfer Station

The Ohio Environmental Appeals Review Commission has decided in favor of Waste Management of Ohio's request for a license to operate a transfer station at the site of its former Environmental Land Development Association landfill in Cincinnati.
The Cincinnati Board of Health denied the license in 2002, saying that Waste Management was not competent to run the facility; the state panel ruled that city officials did not adequately justify their decision. The city has announced its intention to appeal.
