Delaware Considers Possibilities For Mandatory Recycling

The Delaware Solid Waste Authority has agreed to consider possibilities for a mandatory, statewide curbside recycling program. A report last year found curbside recycling could be instituted for northern Delaware at little to no additional cost; combined with resistance to the expansion of the state's major landfill, recycling has become a more attractive option. Even the most recycling-intensive areas of northern Delaware only recycle about 6 percent of their waste.
