Allied Receives Extension For Ohio Landfill

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has granted Allied Waste Industries a permit to expand its Lorain County II landfill in Oberlin, Ohio. Allied can now expand the landfill both laterally and vertically. The site currently comprises 269 acres across two cells; the expansion will connect the two cells and add approximately 16.3 million cubic yards of capacity. The landfill now has a total life expectancy of 28.4 years.
