Noranda Inc. is investing in a new electronic hardware recycling facility in Canada. The operation, the only one of its kind in Canada, will be located in an 82,200 square-foot industrial facility in Brampton, Ontario, near Toronto. The new facility is expected to be operational by summer 2003. The expansion is a direct response to increasing volumes of end-of-life electronics in Canada. Material from the new Brampton plant will be shipped to Noranda's Horne smelter in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec for further processing and metal recovery.
