Casella Waste Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CWST) has entered into an agreement to acquire the Hardwick Sanitary Landfill in Hardwick, Mass. The facility is primarily a construction and demolition debris landfill, although it is allowed to accept a limited amount of municipal solid waste and certain difficult-to-manage wastes, the company said. The facility currently is permitted to accept 300 tons per day, including 50 tons per day of MSW. The transaction is expected to take place in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2003.
