The Southeastern Public Service Authority has announced plans to begin a fully-automated curbside recycling program. The program, which will be phased in over several years, will cost about $2.92 per home per month, up from about $1.05 currently. Recycling is an issue for SPSA because of its need to replace an aging fleet of vehicles. The cost to replace the trucks is estimated at $2 million.
