Republic Services, Inc. (NYSE: RSG) has reported net income of $61.0 million, or $0.36 per share, for the three months ended June 30, 2002, versus $58.1 million, or $0.34 per share, for the comparable period last year. Revenue increased 3.9 percent to $598.2 million from $576.0 million for the same period in 2001. Operating income for the three months ended June 30, 2002 was $116.3 million, compared to $111.8 million for the same quarter last year.
