Waste Connections, Inc. (Nasdaq:WCNX) has announced fourth quarter earnings of $.37 per share on 31.8 million shares. Revenue for the fourth quarter of 2001 was $100.8 million, a 21.7 percent increase over revenue of $82.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2000. Operating income for the quarter increased 21.3 percent to $26.2 million, or 25.7 percent of revenues, from $21.6 million for the fourth quarter of 2000. The company's free cash flow was just under $44 million, or 11.5 percent of revenue, which company officials noted is the strongest in the industry on a percentage of revenue basis.
